Car Audio

Why upgrade the factory car audio system?

The factory sound system in a vehicle can be upgraded to significantly improve the quality and loudness of the music, resulting in a much more enjoyable listening experience.

Factory speakers often lack in producing certain frequencies, which can make some instruments sound tinny, dull, or faded. Additionally, factory radios typically have low wattage output, leading to early distortion. At certain volume levels, some frequencies may be held back while others are boosted, making the listening experience less enjoyable.

Car audio products are available at different quality and price levels. Higher quality equipment provides greater accuracy and cleaner frequency response, resulting in more realistic and original sound compared to cheaper entry-level equipment.

Soundproofing the doors or the entire vehicle can dramatically improve the performance of the car audio system. By sealing all the holes and strengthening the metal parts of the doors, the speaker functions as if it's built into a speaker box, leading to stronger, more accurate performance with less distortion.

Adding an amplifier to the sound system ensures a louder listening experience and can bring the speaker's performance to life by enhancing the details in the music.

To complete the sound system, a subwoofer can be added to produce the low frequencies (bass) that normal speakers cannot reproduce.

Equalizing a sound system with an equalizer, pre-amp, or a DSP can significantly improve its performance by boosting and fading frequencies to create a smoother and more realistic music experience.

Car audio can be categorized into two groups:
1. Sound Quality - a well-balanced and accurate sounding system.
2. SPL - very loud but unbalanced to the point of potential ear damage.
